One of the most advanced and upgraded double-flanged butterfly valve designs available is the eccentric butterfly valve. It’s also known as a high-performance butterfly valve or a double-offset butterfly valve.
The valve stem is positioned right behind the disc where it seals on one-third of the valve bore (Offset). The Double-Offset Butterfly Valve’s design structure reduces friction or scraping between the disc and the body seat, as well as the wear process of the valve.
This sealing mechanism is achieved by the elastic deformation of the disc seal and body seat. This butterfly valve has a long service life and can be used in several applications. The Double-Offset Butterfly Valve may be easily maintained at a lower cost due to its limited number of moving components.
